We have been looking at stop motion, music videos and commercials over the last couple of weeks. They offer fun options separately, or as we have seen in class, combined together.
We we will working on scripts this week. The rough draft is due this Wednesday. It must be on the document I shared with you a couple of weeks ago. If the script is not on this document, you will only receive up to half credit for it. You will be required to have 30 to 40 3 to 5 second shots planned out for this video. Points will be deducted for longer shots that can be broken down with multiple perspective shots of a scene. Stop motion is the exception. It will require a minimum of 90 shots (that is a 1-1/2 minute video not including any titles or credits) to be considered complete. The tone of this video can be fun, serious, creative, entertaining, inspirational. Take charge of this piece, and make something you really relate to.
Over the next 2 weeks you will receive a grades for your class time work. This week will focus on your script and how you prepare for your filming. Thursday and Friday can be used to film or test film ideas, work on sound and music, finding and creating an exercise that can be used in this film or to refine your script. Footage must be shot by next Wednesday. That will give you 7 days to edit and complete your film.
A second exercise is due before break. Please don't forget to get it turned in.
