5 days left for editing your Action, Horror or Comedy film.

Voice overs are required.
Use foley to make your film more interesting.
A special effect is also required! The effect should be obvious.

Mid March

-Footage for Comedy/Horror/Action should be in the editing phase by next week.  This film is due by the end of the month.

-Foley, Voice Overs and Music will be receiving a large grade for this film.  It is expected that you are watching your film as you create these audio tracks, so that they are in synch with your action.

-You must use your special exercise technique in this film as well.  Remember that you are selecting exercises that will add to your films in some way.  If you do not have an appropriate exercise to use, find one.

Those of you that have checked out equipment... get it done and get it back.
Equipment DOs.. use it and make it count and work to get more than you may think you need...
DO NOTs.. leave it in your car, leave it outside, leave it anywhere!  it is cold.. think about it.

This week's agenda:

Scripts should be edited and looked over by this week for those that have shared their docs with me...
also.... if you haven't- you're late!  There are many zeros in the gradebook.
Exercise #1 & 2 should be figured out and worked on... what do you need for footage?  can it be done here?

Everyone is getting back on track!  Great work!

Exercises 1, Production Logo:
-Due last week.  Not done?  Get it done!
-must include a title, the content and credits (including the web address)
-must be exported and saved into the N drive as a mpeg4.

I am still waiting on scripts for the new movies.  Please share them ASAP!  You can also opt for the storyboard style script.  See me if you would like a couple of sheets.

Horror/Comedy/Action Requirements
-3 minute or more video
-Must include voice overs and music plus room tone, and foley effects
-Introduce main character(s)
-Define the situation that the characters must cope with in the story
-Epic scene that highlights the apex of the main plot
-Wrap-up the story line

Cautions:
-avoid delicate content...not sure?  Be sure to talk to me.
-avoid questionable music choices.  If it is offensive, or must be bleeped out, it will detract from the film by pulling the viewer out of the scene. Also it is not appropriate content.
-if you would not play it for Mr. Rasmussen, then don't use it!

Exercise #2: Special Effects
-choose something that can be used in your video
-the exercise footage and film footage do not need to be the same.

Today's Theme:
-Copy Right and Fair Use
We are learning about copyright and fair use... and ways to work with it but also the realization of how to simply avoid it in our work.

Plagiarism
is theft of another person's writings or ideas

Stealing is wrong.

video....  because it makes the point.

It deals with video a bit more and uploading online... but we associate it with digital work since that is WHAT WE DO.

Things to do this week:

1. Export and Save your Walking video into the N Drive ASAP!  Hand me your evaluation as well.

2. Share your Horror/Comedy/Action Script
Not enjoying writing scripts?  I have storyboard handouts that could be used in place of the computerized script.  The sooner you complete the rough draft of your script, the sooner you can film your shots.  See me if you need filming equipment.

3. Complete your Production Logo exercise ASAP

4.Start working on your SPECIAL EFFECTS exercise.  Remember...this exercise should teach you something that you can use in your new video.

Monday

We will be working in class today.
-Videos are due by Wednesday
-Work on new scripts-rough drafts will be due Thursday

I graded this weekend. I suggest looking at your grades and getting things turned in.  Remember to turn in your evaluation with your video.  I will need this to grade your videos.  Please get this done by Wednesday.  Extra evaluations can be gotten from me.

If you are exporting today, please make sure that you have adjust the footage to match the frame size.  Render everything! If you need help, call me over.

A couple of people still need to share their script for Walking with me as well.

If you are caught up in the grade book, you rock!  Keep working on the list from Friday's blog post.

Everyone has plenty to do.
