Wednesday! Restoration

For next week bring in images for scanning.
You will want one for fixing damage and the other for colorizing.

1.  First job is to learn restoration on images.
2. Second job is to bring in images of your own to use.
3. Third job is finish whatever projects you may have not completed yet.

Once your practice image is restored we will move into altering the color of the image, or for
many, adding color.  You will finally be ready to get started on your own photographs. YAY!

This Weeks Schedule

-Photomontage: I started grading these, but see that I need more information from everyone. I will hand these back so you can add an explanation/description for #4. Turn them back in ASAP. Thank you!

-Fine Art Trio: Lab time for the remainder of  the week. Remember that you are designing with brushes only that you find at Brusheezy.com or other free brush site.

-Digital Painting: We will go back to painting next week with a tutorial on calibrating your tablet and how to set up Photoshop for pressure sensitivity.

New Assignment:
Fine Art Triptych-a 3 image series that could be displayed together or alone.

Again, you all have a lot of great things to resource but this is created with
brushes and textures.

Fine Art Canvas creations w/ brushes and textures....  it can be anything.  gory and
gruesome/ happy and jolly/ sick/ posterized/ abstract/ real/...think about a theme to
create a starting point. Composition is critical! Create depth, use visual elements to tie 3
 canvases together.

Think Composition & Color... more example to come!

Digital Painting Video tutorial

1-As a class, you will watch the video for this tutorial.

2-As you have time this hour, read the information that accompanies the video. It will help you setup a new document, and review information.

3-Complete the homework section listed at the bottom of the tutorial page.  To do this, you will need to make sure your your drawing tablet is plugged in.  Take a moment to plug your tablet into the back of the computer.  Many of them are disconnected, because it is clumsy to have them plugged in front.

4-Get a stylus.  Have fun practicing.

5-All styluses must be returned at the end of the hour each day, or you will not be able to use them.

HDR- there are great images in your Devil's Lake contact sheets that are ready for the HDR treatment.  The HDR final images are due Thursday of this week.  To find the original tutorial for HDR, type HDR into the search in the blog.  It will select all the entries that include HDR in the blog entry.  I am looking forward to seeing these.  I will ask a few of you to print them for display around school.

We are moving forward tomorrow with digital painting. We will be completing several days of practicing with styluses and drawing tablets. Next week we will be formally starting a nature painting.

Threshold painting and Photomontage assignments should be turned in this week.
