Next Tuesday and Wednesday we will not be able to use Room 124. These 2 days would be a great time to work on footage or shots for the new video. On Monday plan to check out equipment for our time in the sculpture room.
Come directly to room 133 on these days.

Looking Back and Moving Forward
All the final scripts and Walking videos have been graded. Everyone seemed to struggle with creating a complete final script. If you choose to, you have until Friday to update your script to include missing information. Also, a few people did not credit their music correctly or use music at all. Music was required for this and all films we create this semester.
Everyone should have footage to work with this week for their new film. A handful of people still owe me a rough draft script. This must be completed by midnight April 6th to earn full credit for the horror/comedy/action film.
Exercise #2 is your next assignment. Remember that is a mini short film that features a special effect that you are considering using in the new film.

Start thinking about the next project Comedy/Horror/Action. If you get your script started you can start filming this weekend. In other words, everyone will be filming outside of class from now on. Think about the story, where is the location, who are your actors, what time of day, do you need to check out a camera?
Food for thought...
Themes or more specifically GENRES will help you decide the content of your next movie.
Genres in general...

Our choices...
Horror
Horror: Stories whose central struggle focuses on escaping from and eventually defeating a Monster (either human or non-human).
Comedy
Comedy: Stories whose central struggle causes hilarious results.
Start writing your script. The script are due next Friday. Filming should start soon after or just plain soon.

genre
A genre is a specific type of music, film, or writing. Your favorite literary genre might be science fiction, and your favorite film genre might be horror flicks about cheerleaders. Go figure.
In music, genre refers to musical style such as jazz, salsa or rock. In film or literature, the genre is determined by the subject, setting or plot of the story. When you are wandering around a book store, books are usually arranged by genre. Many genres, such as "mystery" or "fantasy," overlap in film and literature, while others, such as "romantic comedy" in film or "historical fiction" in books, are specific to one or the other.
Action (Disaster): Stories whose central struggle plays out mainly through a clash of physical forces.
Horror
Horror: Stories whose central struggle focuses on escaping from and eventually defeating a Monster (either human or non-human).
Comedy

Walking...
-Start organizing your personal script. To do this, make a copy of the group script, and start to edit it. Please be sure to share this script with me with editing rights.
-Finish up shooting footage for Walking.
-Have you created a folder in your student storage drive (D or E drive)? Get it done. You will need it for storing your footage.
-Work on loading footage into the D drive using Image Mixer. Come get me so I can show you how to use Image Mixer. It's a must for glitch free footage.
Monday we will be looking into Premiere.
Retest next Friday...any questions? Use the blog to study! The links are there to illustrate the vocabulary.

Image-Mixer:
Preferences: lets set this up.
This needs to be double-checked EVERY time!
This is a bit at first but it will become second nature as we continue to create... and we will review this A LOT...
DO NOT OVERLOOK the step to uploading video into the Student Storage drive (most of them are call the D-drive. I will make you do it over if you forget and have it going elsewhere!
Lets set Both to the D- Drive and make sure you save your video to the correct folder also.
Once you have footage, you can copy the shared script, and start working on your personal script. It will help you figure out what shots you need in what order.
Keep on filming. Great start yesterday.
Some notes:
-Stay near by-this hall, Fibers or the stairwell
-Have a plan.
-Practice slow smooth movements for zooming, tilting and panning.
